I had never heard of Tim Hawkinson before, and I must say, he is a pretty interesting character. I really enjoyed his concept of the "Emoter. It was a really odd looking piece, but it had a lot of neat ideas behind it. I also really liked how i"ncredibly large and crisp the features were, while still being outrageously abstract. His "Drip" work was my favorite. I really like the idea of incorporating natural sounds with technology. Something as simple as rain dripping from a roof turned into a symphony. It was pretty cool. I liked the way the drips sounded on the pie tins (or what I am assuming were pie tins at least). I always love when an artist takes nature and industrializes it. I like Hawkinson's abstractions. They are quite agreeable. I would love to see them in real life.
